Viacheslav Bolnykh was born in 1990 in Yekterinburg, Russia. In 2013 he received an engineer-physicist degree (speciality: Electronics and Automation for Physical Installations) in Ural Federal University. In 2013-2014 he was working on post-graduate research project at Ural Federal University in the field of quantum chemistry. In 2014 he was enrolled in IBM Great Minds program and spent six months in IBM Zurich Research Laboratory working on classical molecular dynamics simulations of lithium peroxide nucleation processes.
Viacheslav’s current research interests lie in the field of high-performance computing utilizing massively parallel architectures (including CUDA) in application for solving various problems. Some of the fields I am currently interested in are: Computational Biology, Quantum Chemistry and Solid State Physics.
Viacheslav Bolnykh has been selected for the position of ESR 3 with joint degree awarding Institutions Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH) and The Cyprus Institute (CyI). The project entitled "Massively parallel QM/MM" is supervised by Prof. Paolo Carloni and Assis. prof. Giannis Koutsou.
